(BTC) assists clients to resolve distress, failure, and performance problems related to building enclosure components, structural systems, building science, and architectural engineering systems.  Our mission is to provide our clients with expert evaluation of building problems, and to develop and implement cost-effective and innovative solutions.  As an employee-owned company, our team is dedicated to providing high quality work to meet our clients' needs.  We are seeking a Licensed Senior Structural Engineer interested in supplementing our expert team of building enclosure consultants.

Job Description:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will perform and oversee diverse projects from initial evaluation through construction completion.  You will work closely with staff, principals, building owners, property managers, and contractors to develop innovative and effective designs.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the State of Illinois
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering;  Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform field investigations via aerial access
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and RISA (or comparable structural analysis software)
